Minister’s Accepts New Challenges

Minister’s accepts new challenges
Semi Koroilavesau believes that his new appointment as Minister for Fisheries will be a challenge for him.
However, he said that would not deter him for uplifting the Ministry’s services and what was expected from them.
Mr Koroilavesau was accorded a traditional welcoming ceremony by outgoing Minister, Osea Naiqamu who will be taking up the position of Minister for Forestry.
“This will be a new challenge for me as it is a new Ministry all together but I am banking on my team to assist me out so that we can deliver the best of our service to the Fijian people,” Mr Koroilavesau said.
He said it had been a privilege to be the Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations where he had helped introduce and strengthen the seasonal workers programme which benefitted Fijians.
“I hope to learn the procedures of the Ministry of Fisheries within the next six months with the assistance of my team,” Mr Koroilavesau said.
Newly appointed Minister for Forestry, Osea Naiqamu said his new role was nothing new to him.
He said he would use past experience as former Minister for Fisheries and Forestry to help build the newly formed independent ministry.
“Before both ministries were both under the same umbrella but I believe that Mr Semi Koroilavesu is the best man for the job.
“I want to thank the Government for appointing me to be the new Minister for Forestry,” Mr Naiqamu said.\
