Nadi Army Wives Ready to Play

The 30-member Nadi Army wives team are confident of a good outing at today’s RFMF Wives and Mothers’ tournament at the Multi- Purpose Court at Laucala, Suva.
Team vice-president Ana Koniferedi said yesterday their aim is to compete and come out winners in the end.
“This year we had more time preparing for the tournament,” she said.
“We started our build-up from the last week of June compared to the previous year. This is the year we have really prepared well and we are looking forward to it.”
The side last won the silverware in 2003 in Labasa and since then they have remained winless.
“Overall I want to thank the ladies for attending training and preparing for this tournament and I look forward to a positive result. There were lots of challenges especially when Black Rock decided to have their own team so some of the women had to leave.
Luckily we had another plan in place and that is on our reserves who were slotted in to fill for those vacant positions and now we are ready for the tournament.”
