The Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho yesterday officially opened the Fiji Police Women’s Interformation netball and volleyball competition at the Police Special Response Unit in Nasinu.

In his opening address, Brigadier General Qiliho urged his officers to play to their very best as the two-day competition would lay the foundation towards the institution’s successful campaign in securing both the  Ratu Sukuna netball and volleyball titles.

“Today marks another stepping stone towards our campaign and the weeks and months of training will come to fruition over the next two days as we pick those to represent us in the upcoming challenge against our comrades from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces,” he said.

“Your comrades from the RFMF will be equally hungry to claim both these titles and considering they are hosts of this year’s competition, their hunger and drive to also dominate in all sports will be insatiable”.

Team Headquarters are the defending champions of the Fiji Police Women’s volleyball competition while Team Southern are the current holders of the netball title.
