Southern Division One teams dominated the Fiji Police women volleyball and netball tournament which ended at the Police Special Response Unit grounds in Nasinu yesterday.

Southern Division One netball team had the services of Fijian Pearls star mid court player Alesi Waqa, defender Episake Kahatoka and Alisi Naqiri as they defeated Eastern Division 25-16.

For in the volleyball competition, Southern Division One beat Headquarters One 3-2 to walk away with the winning trophy.

Organising committee member Sergeant Salote Vuniwaqa is confident that they would defend their title in the Ratu Sukuna Bowl competition.

“We have a few national reps and young players that have joined the force and we will have a strong team.

“We also confident that we will take both the volleyball and netball trophies to Nasova this year,” she said.

The Police women, Sgt Vuniwaqa says, will now have six weeks to prepare as they look forward to producing positive results.
