Warriors Undergo Medical Checks

Seruvakula to work on team combination
The Telecom Fijian Warriors final 26-member squad for the 2016 World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge will be announced next week.
Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach John McKee confirmed this to SUNsports yesterday indicating that a few players are going through medical checks this week and the team management should have the final listing by Monday next week.
“We want to go through all these medical checks on some of the players before we announce the final 26-member squad,” McKee said.
Warriors head coach Senirusi Seruvakula said their main task next week is to build on the combination.
“Once we announce the 26 my main aim now is to build the combination and work on our game patterns. The players are currently doing their own workouts in various centres and right now I’m impressed with the progress they are producing at the moment,” he said.
Seruvakula also went on to talk about their camping details.
“We will be camping from September 28-30 and will fly out on October 3,” he added.
The inaugural event includes two teams each from the Pacific Islands (Samoa A, Fiji Warriors), North America (Canada A, USA Selects) and South America (Argentina XV, Uruguay A). The Fijians will play their first match against USA Selects on October 9 at 5:30pm(Fijian time), will take on Pacific brothers Samoa A on October 13 at 3:30pm and their final game against Argentina XV is on October 17 at 7:30pm.
The Americas Pacific Challenge has been introduced to boost the high-performance pathway for the Test arena and supports the Americas Rugby Championship and Pacific Nations Cup as well as the November international test window preparation. Pool A features Argentina XV, USA Selects and Samoa A, while Fijian Warriors, Canada A and Uruguay A are in Pool B.
