Sixty three-year-old Ledua Fane will now teach women in her village on how to use solar.

She was among women from Nadogo district in Macuata,Vanua Levu who were part of a six month training programme on Solar Engineering in India.

Originally from Naboutnini Village in Vanua Levu, Ms Fane said it was a wonderful learning experience for her.

“I have learned how to connect solar lantern, how to use LED lamp, how to use home light system and other things relating to solar engineering.

“I am happy that I was part of this learning experience,” she said.

Ms Fane said there were 10 other countries at the Barefoot College in India.

The group left for India in March and returned on September 14.
