Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama was yesterday briefed by Fiji’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Luke Daunivalu, on the work of Fiji’s UN Mission at the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly.

The PM is set to deliver the country’s statement at the United Nations General Assembly this week and hold numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings.

The families of Fijian diplomats at the UN mission met with the Prime Minister and his delegation in the evening.

Newly-elected President of the UN General Assembly and Fijian diplomat Ambassador Peter Thomson also visited the PM yesterday at the Mission.

It was an opportunity for Mr Bainimarama to personally congratulate Ambassador Thomson in person since his election to the Presidency of the UNGA.
