Secretary-General to Parliament, Viniana Namosimalua has clarified statements made in the Fiji Sun today.
It is alleged that a senior staff member of the Parliament Secretariat was sent home after complaints of sexual misconduct allegedly involving her and two married SODELPA MPs.
The statement from Ms Namosimalua said: ”
The Secretary-General to Parliament makes the following statement to clarify the contents of an article in today’s edition (Thursday 22nd September) of the Fiji Sun entitled “MPs Linked to Alleged Sex Incident”: The Department of Legislature has its own policies and procedures to be followed and that is currently being undertaken.”
“Any further decision will be made once the full result of the investigation is complete. At this stage, the Office of the Secretary-General will make no further comments on the matter.”
The alleged incidents took place at a resort in the West where Government MPs, Opposition MPs and senior Parliament Secretariat staff were attending a seminar.
