A high ranking Fiji Football Association official has confirmed to SUNsports yesterday that sacked national football head coach Frank Farina had not turned up to work for almost a month. It has been speculated that Farina’s termination was due to work ethics and his failure to provide a post-Olympics report.
“Farina has not turned up to work for a month and did not provide his report from coming back with the Fiji national team from the Rio Olympics in Brazil,” said the official.
“His recent actions were not tolerated by Fiji FA which followed in his contract being terminated.”
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel and chief executive officer Bob Kumar are currently in New Zealand and would make an official statement upon their return next week.
