A 11-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide, according the Fiji Police Force.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed to the Fiji Sun yesterday that the incident took place before midday on September 18.
“The student took his own life after he was allegedly disciplined by his mother for staying out late and not informing her of his whereabouts,” Ms Naisoro said.
She confirmed the post-mortem had been conducted and the investigation file would be compiled and sent to the Resident Magistrate for inquest.
The matter was reported to the Nakasi Police Station on the same day.
