At the Fiji Sun we employ more graduates from the University of the South Pacific (USP) and top Indian universities than any other Fijian newsroom.

Amongst them is Maraia Vula, our Managing Editor Production.

Maraia’s busy role includes being in charge of the subeditors’ desk. Plus providing the vital co-ordination between our Walu Bay newsroom and production centre.

Maraia is an award winning University of the South Pacific Bachelor of Commerce graduate (double majors in Management and Public Administration, and Journalism).

As well as her busy daily work at the heart of getting out the newspaper Maraia is continuing her studies. She is pursuing postgraduate qualifications at USP.

Recently we also sent Maraia to Australia for an intensive course at the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism at the University of Technology Sydney.

n Rosi Doviverata, our managing editor digital, a University of the South Pacific graduate now pursuing postgraduate studies.

Rosi Doviverata led a team of three we sent to Australia to spend time with the Sydney Morning Herald and to attend the big news media conference, the Future Forum.

n Ranoba Baoa, our deputy managing editor/production, a University of the South Pacific graduate and also a member of the team we sent to Australia.

n Rachna Lal our managing editor business. She is also an award winning USP graduate and is close to completing her Masters in Business Administration.
