New Challenges Keep Bola Going
Fiji Sun sports editor Osea Bola

Osea Bola is the familiar face you will find on the Fiji Sun sports pages every day.

He joined the Fiji Sun as a Sports Editor in 2004 tasked to lift the sports coverage.   Initially sports ran 3 to 4 pages. Mr Bola was to take the number up to 8 pages daily.

The move was vital as readers demanded quality coverage of sports here and abroad.

“It was tough at first with minimal resources and manpower but with commitment, perseverance sometimes working non-stop, we managed to convince readers to buy the Fiji Sun for the best in sports coverage.”

Mr Bola is proud of his small team which includes Anasilini Ratuva, Justine Mannan and Stella Moresio.

“Working and facing new challenges is what keeps me working at the Fiji Sun.”

It also inspires Mr Bola to keep producing the No.1 sports coverage daily.

He describes himself as hardworking, down-to-earth and simple.

The former Queen Victoria School and University of the South Pacific student hails from Wailotua, Wainibuka.

This was published as part of the Fiji Sun  17th Anniversary Lift-out.
