A pastor on trial for the alleged rape of two church members has been found guilty by all three assessors.

It is alleged that between October 1, 2012 and October 21, 2015, in Vanua Levu and Tailevu, Vakadranu allegedly raped two of his church members who were 19 years old at the time.

Justice Vincent Perera while giving his closing submission yesterday said Vakadranu had told the court that his intentions were that it was part of the teaching.

Justice Perera also told the court that the first victim who had given consent under the intention that it was part of a mission said no one in this world showed her the truth except the accused, Vakadranu.

The second victim had denied giving permission to the accused and said she did not believe in the doctrines of Vakadranu’s church although she had been a member for five years before she left the church.

Justice Perera will give his judgement on Monday.
