The Two Classic Beauties Owned By Prataps Asphalt Quarries

Sports cars and classic cars are usually passion of individuals. But Prataps Asphalt Quarries Limited in Nadi has taken it to a whole new corporate level.
The company owns not one, but two classic cars. The first is a Holden Monaro GTS, HQ 1974 model. This is four-door and is four-speed with a 5L 308 engine.
The second class car is a Chrysler Valiant Charger RT 1971 model. This two-door Coupe is three-speed with a 4.3L 265 Hemi Engine.
The job of looking after these cars and maintaining them belongs to Rahul Pratap, the company’s Project manager/engineer.
Mr Pratap is also the present Secretary for Fiji Class Cars Club founded by Faizal Koya and current club President, Dirk Rodenburg.
Mr Pratap said the vehicle has been with the company for the past seven years.
What done to the cars
What makes the car unique is that these are originals and have all its manufacturers plate and identification on it.
Mr Pratap said so modification has been done.
“This makes it priceless. So far I have not seen original Monaro and Charger in Fiji apart from ours,” he said.
Maintenance for the vehicle is not cheap and the parts are procured overseas as it is not available locally.
“There are suppliers in Australia, New Zealand and America for these Muscle cars,” he said.
