Nemani Nagusa led by example scoring four tries as BLK Nadroga demolished Macuata 92-18 in the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge match at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

Telecom Fijian Warriors pivot Alivereti Veitokani was instrumental at first five eighth amassing 21 points from one try and eight conversions.

 

What happened: The northerners returned to Vanua Levu demoralised after a no-show against the runaway Stallions.

The Stallions scored their first try through centre Eroni Vasiteri which was converted by  Veitokani.

In the 7th minute Nagusa scored and converted by Veitokani for Nadroga to lead  14-0.

Six minutes later Nagusa scored his second and Veitokani did not miss.

Livewire hooker Ratunaisa Navuma scored and converted by Veitokani.

In the 18th minute Nadroga was penalised and Macuata’s first points came from the boot of first-five eighth Koroi Yavala, 28-3.

In the 20th minute, Nagusa scored his third try converted by Veitokani. Six minutes later Nadroga was penalised by referee Usaia Bainivalu for offside play by Nadroga and Yavala was on target again, 35-6.

Macuata scored their first try to Yavala which was converted by Penaia Vakaruru 35-13.

Two minutes from the breather Veitokani scored and converted his own try.

 

Halftime: Nadroga 42-13 Macuata

It took three minutes for Nadroga to score through winger Iliesa Takelo, converted by Veitokani.

Other scorers are Iliesa Ratuva, Eremasi Radrodro, Jone Navori which was converted by Jonetani Ralulu who came off the bench to take over the kicking duties.

Good forward play allowed Macuata’s Ropate Tuisolevu to score in the corner 73-18.

Nagusa, Ratu Penijamini Makutu and Avete Daveta also scored with Wame Navuti kicked two conversions.

Big Play: Alivereti Veitokani played very well at No.10.

 

Star Turn: Macuata scrumhalf Waloi Moceituba put on a good show.

Macuata captain Viliame Bonanuku said: “Nadroga showed no mercy and they are just too good.”
