The Rewa football side had to work hard to beat Dreketi 4-2 in the Vodafone Premier League clash at the Ratu Cakobau Park,  Nausori yesterday. The Delta Tigers made a dramatic comeback in the second half to earn three points.

What happened: Tevita Waranivalu, Savenaca Nakalevu and Joseph Mishra’s brace of goals in the 69th and 86th minutes gave Rewa their most important win.

Dreketi’s Sanaila Nabati and Menon Ram scored but their efforts were in vain as they were outclassed by a much- experienced Rewa outfit that controlled the second half

Star Turn: Mishra was the star player for Rewa. He scored the much-needed goals to give them the win.

Big play: Rewa strikers Waranivalu, Nakalevu and Mishra were on target.

Comments: Rewa coach Marika Rodu said: “We were not settled in the first half and that resulted in Dreketi scoring.  Our players improved a lot in the second half and we won the game.

“We are equally as good as other teams to win the league and we are confident that our players will fight until the end for the league title.

Dreketi coach Johan Leewai said: “Our second half performance was not that good as we allowed Rewa to score. We are on seventh position and we will need to try to avoid being demoted.”
