There is a need to get the public and landowning units to be engaged with the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPSE).

This was part of the message passed on to participants by the SPSE Chief Executive Officer, Latileta Qoro during the Investor Awareness and Broker Consultation session at the Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi last Saturday.

Ms Qoro said : “It is part of the continuing efforts of the Exchange to increase investor awareness regarding investment options in the share market.”

“We have recently signed an MOU with I-Taukei Land Trust Board where we will be working with them to run sessions like this but for particular landowning units.”

She added the listing awareness session was an initiative of SPSE to get the general public to be aware of the investing opportunities that were available in the stock market.

“Also to educate them on what they need to look at before they start investing,” she said.

“We hope that they will go from here and tell their Mataqali, the Yavusa and friends to increase the awareness in the market.”

Ms Qoro also said that there would be more sessions of such nature in the outer Islands and the North as well.
