Government and Opposition Member of Parliament this week will respond to President Major General (Ret’d), Joji Konrote’s address during the 2016-2017 Parliament Opening Session earlier this month.

The Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum will move a motion pursuant to Standing Order 130 on International Treaties today.

However, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum will not be attending the rest of the week’s Parliament sitting as he will be attending a meeting in Washington, USA in his role as Minister for the Economy.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today will move his motion to thank President Konrote for his opening address.

Government Whip, Ashneel Sudhakar said Government and Opposition MPs would respond to the President’s opening address with 20-minute speeches throughout the week.
