Netters beat Tonga, Samoa

 

The Fijian Under-21 netball team got off to a strong start in the opening day of the Oceania Netball World Youth qualifiers in Auckland, New Zealand yesterday.

The Vicki Wilson-coached side beat Tonga in their first game 55-34 winning all quarters 16-7,  30-12 and 41-24.

The Episake Kahatoka-captained side later defeated Samoa in their second match 47-33.

The Samoans led in the first quarter 13-8 and 20-19 at halftime.

But the young Fijians lifted momentum in the third and fourth quarters with Kahatoka leading by example to win 34-28 and 47-33 win.

Fiji will take on the Netball Northern team today.
