The defending champions of Vanua Levu Muslim Inter-District Championship (IDC) have failed to retain their titles.

This was after the Premier winner, Taveuni and Super Premier champion Wailevu lost in their pool games at Subrail Park in Labasa over the weekend.

This was confirmed by Vanua Levu Muslim IDC general secretary Mashud Ali.

“We are continuing with the pool games till this Friday from 5:30pm to 10:30pm,” Ali said.

“We will have the Bowl, Plate Cup finals both for Premier and Super Premier divisions this Sunday at Subrail Park.”

We are urging people in Vanua Levu to come out in numbers to support this worthy cause.”

Nabekavu is tipped to win the Super Premier division after beating Batinikama 2-0 and Wailevu 1-0.

“Our team has never won the IDC and this year we do not want to return home empty handed,” Coach Mohammed Alim said.

The team sponsored by Canform Industries face Seaqaqa today.
