A woman who allegedly tried to bribe an immigration officer has been further remanded at Suva Women’s Correction Centre by the Nadi Magistrates Court.
Lin Su Qin is charged with one count of bribery and was apprehended by Police on Thursday from the Immigration Office at Nadi International Airport.
It is alleged that Lin’s four months Fijian visa had expired when she returned from Vanuatu. She was held by immigration officers on arrival from Vanuatu where she allegedly tried to bribe an officer of $100.
Lin requested Magistrate Mohamed Azar for a Chinese translator.
Magistrate Azar told the accused that the court would seek a Chinese translator in her next court appearance on Friday so that the matter could proceed.
