The Fijian Under-21 netball team dubbed the Baby Pearls have recorded their third win by dumping Netball Northern (New Zealand) 49-41 at the Oceania Youth Netball Championship in Auckland, New Zealand yesterday.

The Vicki Wilson coached-side are among the five Pacific Island teams that are gunning for the three top spots in order to qualify for the Youth World Cup in Botswana in July, next year.

Netball New Zealand head of events and international Kate Agnew said as hosts there have been some surprising results.

The Baby Pearls made a flying start by winning both their opening matches against Tonga and Samoa.

In other results yesterday, Cook Islands remain in contention after they beat Papua New Guinea 55-42 while Samoa walloped Tonga 70-29.
