Olympian 3 attend fitness test

Three members of the Vodafone Fijian 7s team that won the Olympic Games gold medal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil attended the fitness and screening session in Suva yesterday.
Team manager Ropate Kauvesi said they were captain, Osea Kolinisau, Kitione Taliga and wily halfback Seremaia Tuwai.
Kauvesi said about 15 players from the East joined the session and was impressed with their level of performance.
“Especially the players who are from the extended team,” he said.
“The level of fitness was what we had expected from our Olympians. They’ve got a bit of work to do and everyone is just pretty much the same. We have a lot of new boys and we are basically looking at the four years ahead of us rather than focusing on the immediate. We are going to group them together based on their fitness and by the end of this week we will see who we will take into camp.”
The second screening session is today at the HPU Gym in Sigatoka for the West based- players.
