Veteran Midfielder Guides Valebasoga

With the support of their sponsors, Valebasoga Sports team are doing well in the Super Premier division of the Vanua Levu Muslim Inter District Championship.
The team of 34 players are being coached by veteran Dreketi midfielder Henry Dyer.
Club president Hussain Khan said yesterday over the years they have received financial and moral support from the people of Valebasoga residing around the country and those abroad.
“The main sponsors are Babasiga Sheet Metal, Valebasoga Tropik Board Limited, Saizad and Sons Limited and Bula Earthworks Limited,” Khan said.
“The other sponsors are Dalomo Group, Vitiana Timbers Fiji Limited, Quality Motors, Everest Investment, Sam Motors and ISMP Limited.
“We are very grateful to have Dyer with us who have been faithful in coaching our team over the years.
“We have been going to the finals for the past four years but never in any time had we won this IDC.
“Hence this year we have come in a bigger way and is all thanks to all our support from the individual business operators, families and friends.
“If it is God’s will we will take the premier and super premier cup.”
These are the teams’ results during their pool matches: Premier- Valebasoga 2-0, Taveuni, Valebasoga 1-0 Nadogo and Valebasoga 1-0 Dreketi. In the Super Premier- Valebasoga 2-0 Savusavu, Valebasoga 0-1 Tabia, Valebasoga 1-0 Korowiri and Valebasoga 0-2 Nasea.
The Vanua Levu Muslim Inter District Championship general secretary Mashud Ali said so far there hasn’t been any major injury and matches are held on time.
