Government will continue to work diligently to ensure that iTaukeis receive the full benefit of their land ownership, says Faiyaz Koya.

His comments came after Opposition MPs had claimed that iTaukeis had been taken away their rights to land.

Opposition MP, Jiosefa Dulakiverata claimed that Fijian land owners had not been paid their fair share of royalties.

Speaking in Parliament yesterday, in his capacity of Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Mr Koya said iTaukei had equal beneficiaries under Government’s other programmes and initiatives.

He said protections are in place and they are currently formulating laws to identify the processes for the payment of royalties.

Mr Koya said the Constitution stated that no Fijian was left out of Government’s progress and development.
