Nadi School for Special Education’s and Lautoka Sunshine Special School were crowned winners of the Western Council of Special Educators Games at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

Students from the seven special education schools in the Western Division participated in the two-day event.

The annual event was formalised in 2005 after the establishing of the Western Council for Special Educators (WESTCOSE).

McDonald’s Fiji Operations manager Damon Gregg was pleased with the participation of the students throughout the two-day event.

“Although I missed all the events because of work commitments, on behalf of Marc McElrath and his Mum, what an honour it was to sponsor such an event,” he said.

Gregg acknowledged those who have contributed to the success of the event.

“I thank the Nadi centre that have put in a lot of hard work and making things run smoothly.

“To the organising committees and everyone who have put in a lot of effort thank you for the hard work and big thanks to all the teachers and the parents who have put in all.

“We greatly acknowledge some of the main suppliers, printing and sign crafters and students from Fiji National University who have helped out,” he added.

Meanwhile, in the 5E category Nadi School for Special Education and Lautoka Sunshine Special School were crowned the overall winners while Ba School for Special Education was crowned the overall winners in the 6D category.
