Nabekavu is likely to win the Vanua Levu Muslim Inter-District Championship (IDC) Super Premier Cup.

The team leads with 13 points after five games with the runner-up Batinikama on 10 points.

Vanua Levu Muslim IDC general secretary Mashud Ali said both teams qualified for the semifinals and they would play tonight at Subrail Park.

“The Pool Two semifinalists would be decided after last pool matches between Tabia- Vunimoli and Korowiri-Savusavu,” Ali said.

“However, Nasea on Thursday night needed a win against Tabia, which they drew, so they have settled for Plate competition.

Top contenders in the Premier division after five games are Valebasoga on nine points, Tabia with seven points after four games and Korowiri having seven points after four games.

“If Tabia and Korowiri win their fifth game, then Valebasoga will drop to Plate competition,” Ali explained.

“This shows how stiff the competition is as the standards are just like Vodafone Premier League.”

“The Fiji Football Association Referees director Rakesh Varman witnessed the matches on Thursday and praised the organisation of the tournament

“So far there is no major hiccups and spectators are turning in big numbers enjoying quality football.”
