After an awesome Girls Go Surfing day last weekend the Fiji Surfing Association begins to focus on the upcoming Rip Curl Micro Grommet series.

An exciting new surfing contest is designed for the Under-14, U12 and U10 boys and girls.

The series has two rounds with the first competition at Natadola on October 22 and the Namotu Island on November 5.

Entry fee is $15 for the U14, $10 for the U12 and free for the U10.

There are limited spaces in the series, enter those who can surf and first in gets a spot. Entries close on October 14.

Competitors will surf once in both rounds and their wave scores will be added together after round two to decide the prizewinners.  So all competitors will surf twice in total.

Every competitor receives a Rip Curl Micro Grommet Series t-shirt, a BSP savings account with $10 in it and 1 lucky girl will win a new surfboard courtesy of Vatuvara.

The second round at Cloudbreak will see the Thundercloud trimaran used for judging courtesy of Fiji Surf Co.

For those who are keen to train before the series kicks off the Fiji Surfing Association is conducting a training session for micro grommets at Natadola on October 15. It will give you a chance to practice on the contest break.

Again there are limited spaces so contact me Ian Portingdale on  830-7173 : info@surfingfiji.com.fj
