Sixty-year-old Home of Compassion resident Agnes Lilo has no regrets in life and her faith in God has kept her going all these years despite her disability.

Ms Lilo has been living in the home in Tamavua, Suva for a few decades. She thanks the sisters and those that have supported and contribute in the running of the home.

“It’s been rewarding to work here for the past three years and I have no regrets,” said Nalini Singh, Personal Care Assistant at the home.

Home of Compassion was holding their annual bazaar yesterday with stalls selling delicious dishes, cakes, barbecue cooking, books and clothes.

A huge crowd turned out and all proceeds will go towards the day to day running of the home.

“It’s always great to come back and support this fundraising every year,” said Maria Tui, a former staff of the home.

The Home of Compassion celebrated its 65th birthday. The Home has 15 residents and 18 staff. The longest serving resident is 99 year-old Louisa Sales.
