Vodafone Fiji launched PINKTOBER – a month long awareness, campaign on risks, early detection and prevention of Breast Cancer yesterday. The company’s chief executive, Pradeep Lal said: “PINKTOBER has a significant meaning that is centered on the initiative to show holistic support for those who have fallen victims to breast cancer.

“Together, we will create awareness, support those who have won over this ordeal, and encourage health checkups.”

He said the month long campaign would see Vodafone staff getting involved in fundraising drives with all monies raised donated to the Fiji Cancer Society.

They started with the awareness initiative from Damodar City Complex yesterday with Berlinda Chan of Fiji Cancer Society.

Vodafone Fiji would carry out various fundraisers throughout this month.

“Charity in these areas are crucial to support the victims and their families. Vodafone is proud to be engaged in supporting this worthy cause,” added Mr Lal.

He said their staff had pledged to raise funds and put through the Vodafone ATH Foundation – Double the Dollar initiative and donate to the Fiji Cancer Society.

“With the various programmes lined up for the month we aim to maximise awareness and raise more funds.”
