12 Drivers Charged In West For Drunk Driving

Twelve drivers in the Western Division have been charged after being tested positive for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Ms Naisoro confirmed the cases were from September 26 to October 2.
She said the Western division tops the number of cases of drivers charged for drinking and driving.
“The Western Division continues to record worrying trends with regards to drink and drive cases.”
Ms Naisoro said the road death toll currently stands at 40 compared to 51 for the same period last year. Drink driving one is one of the causes of road accidents and fatalities.
“Drivers need to be more considerate and respect the rights of others to use our roads. Despite several warnings the public have not adhered to these rules,” she said.
“This has been said several times however there are those that continue to gamble with their lives and the lives of others.”
