The Radisson Blu Resort on Denarau Island will be improving its 134 rooms system in the coming months.

Resort general manager Gerard Knight confirmed the upgrades would start in October this year and are expected to cost from $7 to $11 million.

Mr Knight said the upgrade will include new colours and designs to the rooms.

“Half of the property will be done in the first six months,” he said.

“We are looking at it to be finished by May or June 2017.”

Mr Knight said the project will be on hold as the high season begins and continue with the second half of upgrades in October 2017.

“It has been finalised and we have started with the mock up room.

“We have reviewed and decided what we like and what we don’t like in the rooms.”

Chinese market

Mr Knight said Radisson Blu Resort is part of a well respected Tourism Industry in Fiji.

“We have been here in Fiji for nine years,” he said.

“Like any other resort here and we take great pride in hosting a growing China market.

“We are well represented in China with our company managing 1400 hotels worldwide.”

He added China is clearly not just a world super power in terms of business arena but its tourism potential is also massive.
