The Telecom Fijian Warriors were hosted to a farewell service at the Wesley Circuit City Mission Church in Butt Street, Suva yesterday.

The Warriors were reminded of their responsibilities as they prepare to leave for the 2016 Americas Pacific Challenge in Uruguay.

Reverend Jeremaia Waqainabete reminded the players to always put faith in God and quoted from the book of Psalms 37; 1-4; do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away. Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

“Do not be fret, always let God be the judge,” Rev Waqainabete said.

“This is a reminder to us Christians as sometimes we are easily carried away in tough times but remember always put faith in the Lord.

“Sometimes we turn our focus away from the Lord but he is always there waiting to save us.”

The players and officials also took part in Holy Communion.

“It shows we are united as one, it brings out the spirit of togetherness through our Lord Jesus Christ,” Rev Waqainabete added.

Meanwhile, head coach Senirusi Seruvakula is optimistic of a positive result.

“We will do our best and make Fiji proud,” Seruvakula said.

“The forwards have been doing well for the past four days, they understand our pattern and hopefully when we reach Uruguay they will be up another level.”

The team play USA Select on October 9 at 5:30pm, Samoa A on October 13 at 3:30pm and Argentina XV on October 17 at 7:30pm.
