The inclusion of five players from the Transfer Window into the National Hire Dreketi side is going to boost their Courts Inter District Championship (IDC) campaign.

The minnows have roped in Charles William from Lautoka, Krishneel Krishna, Shoel Khan, Joel Prasad and Vilikesa Sowani.

Dreketi coach Johan Leewai said the five players have been a blessing to the team as they take on Jack’s Nadi in their pool opener at the ANZ Stadium, Suva today.

“Preparations are going really well and the players have come together and have bonded really well for this tournament,” Leewai said.

“Our new inclusions from the transfer window have settled in really well and they have lifted our side. These players have come to our team bringing with them wealth of experience and they have been good role models to the rest of the players. I have seen during training that they are learning from each other and helping each other out which is something that I am happy to see.

“Not only is their presence a boost but we have secured a sponsorship from National Hire and that in itself is a bigger boost knowing we have support and I know the boys will go out there and give it all their best.”

With the closing of the Fiji Football Transfer Window, Leewai says, this year’s IDC will be a tough one.

“Nadi will be a tough game for us and I think every game will be tough because these teams will be fielding the players they have got from the transfer window. We will be going into this tournament with our heads held high and play according to our game plan. The boys have had a good week in training and we are looking forward to our first game. We are taking each game at a time and hope for a positive result.”

Dreketi take on Nadi at 5:30pm.
