Two Suva soccer reps appeared yesterday at the Nasinu Magistrates Court for separate cases. One is charged for abduction, the other, for providing false information to Police.

Ivan Kumar, charged with the abduction of a young person, appeared before Magistrate Charles Ratakele.

It is alleged that on September 5 at Nasinu, Ivan, 19, unlawfully took out two female students from Rishikul Sanatan College to McDonald’s in Suva against the will of their parents.

Defence lawyer, Patrick Kumar, applied for bail on the grounds that he has not offended before.

He was granted bail in the sum of $250 with strict bail conditions.

His bail conditions are that he is not to offend, not to change his residential address, not to interfere with the two students and to remain in good behaviour.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Jiten Singh will send the matter to the Director of Public Prosecutions Office for advice.

The case has been adjourned to November 2.

Don, of Lautoka, is charged with giving false information to a public servant.

He appeared before Magistrate Sufia Humza.

It is alleged that on October 3 at Nasinu, Don, 19, gave false information to a Police officer knowing that the information was false.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Joseph Dickson served full phase disclosures.

Magistrate Humza granted him a fresh bail in the sum of $500 with strict bail conditions. The case has been adjourned to October 24 for plea.
