FEA Takes Gold

Company has adopted the Quality Circles Framework Model across its operations.
The Fiji Electricity Authority celebrated another milestone yesterday after winning the gold award during the 21st National Convention on Quality at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay.
The convention is sponsored by the Fiji National University and its National Training and Productivity Centre. It is held every year.
Human Resources general manager Naveen Lakshmaiya said this was a success to FEA itself and a team effort, which they value at work.
“Quality Circle is a tool that we use to engage our employees and we have been in this journey since 2012 and this is our second Singapore win. We have been the model of this organisation, we have won two gold and silver awards and this is entirely to lift up our creativity of the team,” Mr Lakshmaiya said.
“At the same time there is uplift in excellence in the organisation, the support from the board from the senior management and the CEO has been great. There is a lot of investment in place to ensure that we achieve our target and we have engaged 60 per cent of our employees in this programme. So we’ve have surpass that target to 67 per cent and in 2017 we have set ourselves a very ambitious target of 90 per cent of our employees to engage in this Quality Circle programme.”
Since 2012, as part of the Strategic HRD plan implementation, FEA adopted the Quality Circles Framework Model across its operations.
“IETEX is in Singapore and we look forward to taking part again,” he said.
The International Exposition of Team Excellence symposium (IETEX) is an annual international event organised by the Singapore Productivity Association.
