What happened; Midfielder Anish Khem keeps Nadi’s chances alive in the 2016 Courts Inter- District Championships after scoring for Nadi against Rewa at the ANZ Stadium last night.

Khem scored midway in the second half beating Rewa goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.

Nadi lifted the momentum in the second half in denying Rewa.

The Korovuto, Nadi lad was grateful of scoring in the IDC.

“Our plan was to put them under pressure. It was the mistake from Rewa goalkeeper that allowed me to score,”Khem said.

The two sides played a strong attacking game in the opening 45 minutes.

Nadi players Rusiate Matererega and Napolioni Qasevakatini had they chances but the Rewa defence was rock solid for the team to be scoreless at halftime.

Big Play:  The two sides displayed an entertaining football but needs to improve on their finishing.

Star Turn: The ‘Green Machine’ regrouped well in the second half putting Rewa under pressure.

Comments Nadi Coach Joseph Nand said: “Rewa was not an easy team to play against but in the second half a mistake allowed us to score. We need to win against Ba in next game.”

Rewa coach Marika Rodu:

“Indiscipline and poor defence costs us the game. We played well in the first half and in the second half it was indiscipline that let us down.

“It’s simple when you will lose focus, you will lose the game.”
