The President of Nauru, Baron Waqa this morning presented his i reguregu on Bau island.
The President was accompanied by a small delegation, including his wife and the late Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi’s personal assistant and driver.
The late Roko Tui Bau, was Nauru’s Chief Justice at the time of his death.
Also presenting his i reguregu just before the Thanksgiving Service was the King of Tonga, King George Tupou VI.
A coalition of Non-Governmental organisations also arrived early this morning. Many of Ratu Joni’s colleagues were on the island to farewell their good friend.
Many took time to sign the condolence book , including a delegation from Samoa.
