Rakiraki Remain Unbeaten

It was a successful first day for R.C. Manubhai Rakiraki as they won both their matches at Bidesi Park during the Senior Division Courts Inter District Championship yesterday.
They first beat neighbours Vatukoula 1-0 and later on edged out Seaqaqa on similar margin.
Against Vatukoula, it was a Jale Vuta strike in the dying moments that won them the game while Shekar Reddy scored against Seaqaqa. Rakiraki coach Pragdeesh Goundar said this was what they had trained for and they are taking one game at a time.
Goundar said, they had difficulties in getting the team to train together but he is glad the players have done well in their matches.
“We had roped in five new players which I believe helped the team improve,” he said.
“We trained for two weeks which is only in the weekend because most of the players are out working in other districts so it’s a bit difficult for us to train together.
“We want to beat Nadogo and qualify for the semi-finals and hopefully come Monday we will take the trophy back to Rakiraki,” he added.
