Rakiraki won their first game in the Courts Inter District Primary Schools division at Bidesi Park. They beat Lautoka 3-1.

Team spokesperson Vishal Goundar said the team aim to win their first IDC title.

“The boys were behind by one goal and fought back to score three goals,” he said.

“We had support from the teachers and players from the 16 different schools during our preparations.

“We had an inter-primary from the different schools for the first time where a panel selected the team.”

Lautoka coach Navin Kumar said the team had less time to prepare.

“We told them to prioritise their exams,”Kumar said.

“We had only one Saturday to gather and prepare for the tournament. I believe that was the main factor but this is just our first game we will come back hard in our next game.”

The games continue today with Rakiraki playing Labasa while Lautoka take on Rewa.
