The Life Insurance Corporation of India celebrated its 60th year of operation in Fiji last Friday.

Speaking at the event, LICI general manager, Fiji operations, Sanjay Dayal said it had been a nice journey all these years.

LICI Fiji started operations on 8th October, and has now become the tower of assured security.

Mr Dayal added they were proud to be the fabric of society and the economy of this great nation.

“LICI is the Market Leader in Life Insurance, leading with 59% share in policies and 64% share in premium,” Dayal said.

“We are servicing over 60,000 policies in Fiji as on date.”

He also said the welfare of the LICI policy holders was LICI’s responsibility.

Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Barry Whiteside also thanked LICI for its contribution towards the Fijian Economy over the years of operation.

“LICI has been part of our financial inclusion journey from when we started back in 2009,” Mr Whiteside said.

“The early participation from LICI certainly cemented the role that life insurers have in financial inclusion in Fiji and I thank LICI for its efforts to grow its services and accessibility.”

Mr Dayal also thanked the staffs for their tremendous efforts towards the growth of the company.

LICI also awarded some of their senior staffs who had retired and some of the staffs who are working with them now.
