Lions Ready For Nadi

Propellor Shaft Services Labasa aims to beat Jack’s Nadi in the Courts Inter-District Championship first semifinal 3pm at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.
In the second semifinal, Ba plays Singh’s Rentals Lautoka at 5pm.
“We lost to Nadi in the Vodafone Fiji FACT and aim to get even,” Labasa Football president Rayaz Khan said .
“We want to win the IDC and we are confident we can,” Khan said.
“The Babasiga Lions are fully prepared this time.”
Labasa will be fielding their deadly combination in strikers Christopher Wasasala, Ilisoni Logaivou and solid defenders Taniela Waqa, Remeru Tekiate and Edwin Shahayam who have been impressive so far.
A major setback for the side was the loss of defender Ilisoni Lolaivalu due to double yellow cards he picked up in the matches against Suva and Nadroga.
“Lolaivalu will not be playing in the semifinal but we have players who can do the job for us,” Khan said.
The Lions are the in-form team after brushing aside three tough pool opponents.
The Lions last won the IDC in 2011 at the same venue and this time they are optimistic that luck will be in their favour.
Nadi on the other hand are preparing well and out to end their runners-up tag in the IDC.
The Jetsetters lost three last IDC finals and this time they are going in more prepared.
Nadi will play Napolioni Qasevakatini and Rusiate Matererega upfront.
The Jettsetters will be out to break their 14-year IDC winless jinx.
Nadi Football president Navneeda Goundar said they are confident this time around.
“We will field our experienced players in this match.
“We last won the IDC in 2002 and played in the last three IDC finals.
“I have full faith in my players that they will deliver,” Goundar said.
Like Labasa, Nadi are also likely to play without defender Eliki Ravosai who was injured in their game against Rewa.
