Defending primary schools champion Labasa are optimistic of defending their title against Lautoka in the final at 10am today.

Labasa  beat Rakiraki 2-0 in the second semi-final while Lautoka defeated Rewa 1-0 in the first semi-final.

Labasa coach Amitesh Prasad said winning the semi-final was crucial for them as defending champions.

“We just had four players from last year in this team  but we are  confident of beating Lautoka.

“We want to thank parents and supporters in Labasa for their support.

Fiji Primary Schools Football Association president Ami Chand believes the two teams will be the team to beat in the Vodafone Fiji Primary School Football Championship from October 19-21.

Labasa take on Lautoka at 10am.
