2 Fiji Times Delivery Drivers Charged With Theft

Two delivery drivers for The Fiji Times appeared at the Navua Magistrates Court charged with theft yesterday.
The matter was called before Magistrate Seinileba Levaci who granted them bail with strict conditions.
It is alleged that on October 12, Ronish Kumar and Salen Ram at Navua Town dishonestly appropriated (stole) four pieces of timber valued at $20, the property of Fulton Hogan with intention to permanently deprive the said.
Both accused have sought private counsels and are to be present with their counsels on the next date.
Police Prosecutor Constable Riteshni Lata served the disclosures and informed the court that the case was of interest as the property alleged to have been stolen belonged to Fulton Hogan.
Ms Levaci did not give the accused a curfew as they informed the court that they worked at night as The Fiji Times delivery drivers.
They have been informed not to interfere with the witnesses or complainant, they are not to change their residential address and they are to report to the Valelevu Police Station at the end of every month on a Friday.
They were granted bail in the sum of $100 and were to present a surety each who signed a surety bond of $100 each.
The case has been adjourned to November 10 for mention.
