Top Executives will tomorrow get to hear from a senior specialist of International Labour Organisation’s Multinational Enterprises and Enterprise Engagement Unit based in Geneva.

Yukiko Arai will speak at the 2016 TOPEX on the theme: “Labour Corporate Social Responsibility and Multi National Enterprises Declaration”.

ILO is the United Nations specialised agency that promotes decent work for all, and draws up and oversees international labour standards.

Ms Arai leads the unit’s country-level activities, focusing on the employment and social impact of foreign direct investment and operations of multinational enterprises, labour issues in global supply chains, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

She is also the global coordinator of the network of ILO experts working on issues related to business and decent work.

Ms Arai joined the ILO in January 2001. Prior to the ILO, she worked at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, both based in Washington, D.C.

In 2013, she took leave of absence from the ILO to work as the Director of International Relations of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic bid committee.
