Police Warn Against Clowns Movement

Police have warned people against getting involved in the ‘Killer Clown” craze that has gone viral overseas.

People dressed as clowns have been videotaped scaring children as pranks. One woman in the US was reported to have gone into early labour after she was confronted by a knife wielding clown.

Pages have popped up on Facebook claiming that the ‘clowns’ are now in Fiji and for people to be braced for it.

The Fiji Police Force are not seeing the funny side of any such attempts.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro said: “We haven’t received any official report of the matter however we are strongly advising against anyone trying to follow this so called movement not to be caught in a situation that would land them in trouble while the one posting it is sitting comfortably in their own home.

“Common sense must prevail and we know that people will not be fooled into trying out these things here in Fiji.”
