Ravindra Nath won the Pacific Energy Shell Lubricant Quarter Mile Drag Race at the Nanuku Aerodome in Pacific Harbour yesterday.

Nath clocked 10.50sec, Vicky Nath second  (11.55),  and Amal Singh third  (11.99).

Fiji Car Club president Raizal Haniff said 10 new drivers joined the race yesterday.

“Most of our regular drivers are not consistent nowadays,” he said.

“But it’s good we have backup from the new drivers.

“Thirt two drivers took part compared to the 41 we had in the last race. But having 10 new drivers is a good development for us.

“We have four cars from the West and it was also good to see one participant from Levuka who just came in participated and went back to Old capital.

“We still have yet to get confirmation from authorities before we host a race in the western division.

“Our main concern now is the safety of the public so as soon as we get the green light we will stage a race in the western side.”
