Ba football fans can expect a thriller when their team take on Suva in the Vodafone Premier League clash at Govind Park, Ba on Friday.

This was after Ba striker Samuela Nabenia scored a brace of goals as the Imdad Ali coached- side walloped Nadroga 6-0 in their showdown at Govind Park, Ba last night.

What Happened: The Men in Black came out firing from the first whistle as lanky striker Saula Waqa made his mark in the fifth minute when he slammed the ball past Nadroga goalie Pramesh Prasad for the first goal. The Stallions had a strategy in place with goalkeeper cum striker Sakeo Taganeca combining well with Taniela Rabulu in the front. Veteran Watisoni Ramoka returned to the fold as he manned the centre back spot but they simply had no answers for the Ba onslaught. Nabenia rifled his first goal in the 25th minute and six minutes later he headed in his second goal as they led 3-0.

Five minutes later Avinesh Waran Suwamy capitalised on a low ball in the box from a Maciu Dunadamu cross to increase their lead to 4-0. In the dying moments of the first half Dunadamu slotted their fifth goal.

Half time: Ba 5–0 Nadroga

Nadroga came back firing after the breather but did not last long as Ba came on top with another goal through Meli Codro in the 51st minute.

Big play: Waqa and Nabenia proved to be a class of their own as they combined well upfront.

Star turn: Malakai Tiwa and Suwamy controlled the midfield and disctated all their moves.

Comments: Ba manager Arvind Singh said, “This is our first match in Ba since the Tropical Cyclone (Winston) struck this year. We are glad to record the much-needed three points and it has been a while we have given Nadroga this score line.”

Nadroga FA president Jiko Matawalu said, “It was our first match after the IDC and Ba played their class backed by their home crowd. We have left this match behind us and our focus is to hit the drawing board as we have matches in Labasa this weekend.”
