The World Rugby Americas Pacific Challenge in Uruguay provides a good learning experience for Robert Delai.

The 30-year old is a member of the Telecom Fijian Warriors which lost 27-26 to the Argentina XV in the final on Monday.

He plays prop for Jack’s Nadi in the  provincial competition.

“It was my first time to tour with a national team, it has been an eye opener and I’ve leant a lot,” he said.

“I thank the selectors for giving me the nod in the first place.”

The Ono-i-Lau native made his debut for Nadi in 2010.

Hardworking Warriors skipper Rupeni Nasiga said they could have done better after being behind 0-17 at halftime

“We talked about it at half-time that we need to believe in ourselves and do what the coach wants,” he said.

“The local players need to believe in themselves and work hard. Nothing is impossible with the Europe Tour in November coming up.”
