A Colombian national charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs was yesterday remanded by the High Court in Suva.
Aiden Alec Hurtado is alleged to have imported 20.5 kilograms of cocaine into Fiji without lawful authority in 2014.
Justice Achala Wengappuli has ordered corrections to take Hurtado to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Hurtado’s trial date has been set for May 22 to June 9 next year.
The case has been adjourned to December 14 for mention.
